As the Dehonian Missionary Family, we want to put our motto “to make human connections” into practice. That is why pilgrimage has become another space where we can be together.
The first “Missionary Pilgrimage” set out in September 2021 to Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was not only an opportunity to discover extraordinary places and the history of the Church in the Balkans, but above all, a time of meeting with Dehonian missionaries and praying together. In 2022, “In the Footsteps of Saint Mother Teresa of Calcutta,” we travelled to North Macedonia.
Another important step was the “Pilgrimage to the Heart of God,” which took place in 2026. Its special highlight was the indulgence celebration on the occasion of the Feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus at the Sanctuary in Paray-le-Monial – the place where Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque experienced the apparitions of Jesus, contributing to the development of devotion to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Our initiatives so far have been met with great enthusiasm from our Donors. That is why, already today, we are thinking about further pilgrimages together.
We invite you to read the account and view the photos from the “Pilgrimage to the Heart of God” in the article entitled “Why Do We Need a Pilgrimage For?”.
